Wow! I haven't posted in 3 years! Eeeesh! Welp, it hasn't been because I haven't been thinking! Hahaha! I think this a pretty kool way to return though because for the last few years I have been in a state of confusion because of a crisis of identity.
In 2013, I invested my entire life into a "calling", which was also my source of income. When I was released from the job, almost a year later, I suffered many losses, which included my sense of identity and purpose. Because I had invested so much into "doing" the thing I was "called" to do, I had no clue on how to live life afterwards.. I chased and searched for opportunities which only led to more rejection and feelings of hopelessness. I felt like Elijah in the wilderness when he ran from Jezebel. I was ready to die. I strayed from God, which was the worst thing to do because He was sure to be the One who could help me regain my sense of purpose and being. Just recently, I asked God what did He want me to do...for Him...as in what should I be doing with my life. His response to me was, "Stop trying to impress me". Yoooo....I was speechless. Here I am thinking that I need to be doing something and God's like "I wish you would STOP doing THAT!" My thinking was that the only way I could get back into God's good grace was to do "spiritual" things.. I was treating God like He was "man" because that's how man thinks..."if you love me, then you would show me". That's soooo off when it comes to God because He made a decision to love us despite us when He sent His only begotten Son to die for us while we were sinners. After spending some time listening to God, I realized that God simply wants me to "BE". That's the same thing He wants from you. He wants you to "BE" His daughter and son. So many of us have a crisis of identity because we have associated our identity with "doing" something spiritual. So when we don't get the opportunity to "do" those things, we feel inadequate, useless, and overlooked. It's in God that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28}. Our identity is hidden in God (Colossians 3:3}. So, you are called to "BE" before you are called to "DO". As you "become", it will be second nature for you to "do". You are not your calling. You are God's child. Blessings and Favor PEP

Yoooo! It's December....the last month of the year 2016. As I sit hear wondering what to type I can't help but think about all of the declarations that I read on social media about what people were expecting to take place in this year. Not sure if those things have happened or not however I am persuaded that if they haven't then there is still time. God has 31 more days to complete what He began at the top of the year, that is, if it was He who promised. So, instead of saying an early goodbye to 2016, I choose to welcome December with open arms, living in expectation that at any day now there will be a performance of the things that I have believed God for. As I was skimming through the pictures on Instagram today, I came across a video of one of my instabuddies encouraging his followers that (and I quote) "2016 is not over yet; there is still time for greatness in this year." (Darvel Givens) I echo his sentiments and exhort you to not rush 2016 away just because it's the last month of the year and what you expected has not manifested. Keep believing and declaring daily throughout this month that "this could be the day that IT COMES TO PASS!!!
